The tropical storm Isaac, which is now about to arrive in Louisiana, is causing more and more alarm: the president of the United States Barack Obama has already declared a state of emergency. According to forecasts, Isaac will intensify to a Category 1 hurricane by today and heading straight to New Orleans Wednesday, seven years after the disaster caused by the passage of Katrina. Isaac could become the first hurricane since 2008 to hit the Gulf coast.
However, despite Tropical Storm Isaac, the Republican convention in Tampa will happen. The meeting, during which the investiture of My Romney as a candidate to challenge Barack Obama to the presidential elections on November 6, it formally opened today, even if the actual go-ahead will arrive tomorrow. Most of the events scheduled for this first day have been canceled precisely because of Isaac.
