The theme of the meeting between Poletti, Delrio, Calenda and the unions is the massive use of redundancies which, according to rumors, will be contained in Alitalia's new industrial plan – 4-hour strike by group employees on Thursday.

The ministers meet the unions on the dispute Alitalia. The awaited meeting between the trade unions and three members of the government is scheduled for today: Transport Minister Graziano Delrio, Labor Minister Giuliano Poletti and Economic Development Minister Carlo Calenda. The theme at the center of the meeting is the massif use of redundancies which, according to rumors, will be part of the new industrial plan of the company, overwhelmed by new economic problems in the last few months.

On Thursday, company employees will go on strike for 4 hours, from 14 to 18 pm. Alitalia announced that it had been "forced to cancel 60% of scheduled flights" due to the strike proclaimed for February 23rd. The company also announces that it has prepared a plan to limit the inconvenience and relocate the largest number of passengers involved in the cancellations to the first available flights.
