The sectors indicated for initiating potential partnerships are:

  • building materials;
  • chemicals (paints, the chlorine supply chain) and pharmaceuticals;
  • steel and metallurgical processing, in particular metal structures for construction;
  • electric batteries, glass, paper;
  • textile and clothing;
  • leather goods;
  • electronics;
  • mechanical and electrical engineering (cables, transformers, generators).

In order to include in the database of international companies potentially interested in partnerships with Algerian public companies, Italian companies will have to send a short presentation of the company in French, together with the references, to the e-mail address of the Algerian Ministry (dpp@mipmepi.gov.dz) and, for information, to the address of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Italy (commerciale.algeri@esteri. it) and the local ICE Agency office (algeri@ice.it). At the same time, the announcement was made creation of a Committee in charge of evaluating the measures to be taken to improve the business climate in the country. The Committee will be integrated by representatives of all relevant economic Ministries including the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Commerce, Labour, Post and Telecommunications, Water Resources and the Bank of Algeria. The new institution will have a Technical secretariat to draw up an action program shortly and will also be supported by the World Bank Office in Tunis.
