Airbnb to test the referendum in San Francisco

A San Francisco today we vote on airbnb. The voters of the Californian city, in fact, are called to express themselves, among other things, on the proposition F, which concerns the site founded in 2008 in San Francisco to allow users to search for houses and rooms for temporary rent and which today is worth more than the hotel giant Marriott.

The referendum concerns the possible introduction of a maximum of 75 nights per year ashort-term rentals, with the possibility for neighbors to report any violations. If, on the other hand, the "No" were to win, things would remain as they are.

The association it represents supports the "Yes", ie the introduction of the maximum ceiling San Francisco tenants, which tries to keep house prices as affordable as possible and accuses Airbnb of increasingly pushing long-term renters out of the city, since it is cheaper for the landlord to rent by the day to tourists.

After all, San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the United States, especially after the technological boom registered in its area, which has led to an increase in real estate costs which makes it increasingly difficult to buy a home or pay rent.

Today's referendum, which seems to be aimed at the victory of the "No", in any case represents an important test for Airbnb, which is facing, for the first time, a situation of this kind, moreover in its hometown, risking, in the event of a victory for the "Yes", of unleashing a chain reaction of restrictions in other cities as well.
