Air France denies rumors about Alitalia

"Air France KLM confirms that there are no negotiations on the purchase of Alitalia shares held by Italian investors“. This was stated by a spokeswoman for the French-Dutch airline, denying the press rumors released today by "Il Messaggero".

According to what was reported today by the Roman newspaper, Air France's plan for the future of Alitalia is already ready and foresees precisely the acquisition of the shares of the Italian shareholders, bringing the company into a holding together with the Dutch KLM, already controlled by Paris.

According to Il Messaggero, the French "have decided to speed up the process in view of January 12, when the members of the Italian consortium will be able to sell their shares on the market. A sprint with the lights off to get to the finish line without a hitch. Contacts with the consortium led by Intesa Sanpaolo and which, among others, include Equinox, the Solido group, Riva, Unipol, Immsi, Cesare Carbonelli D'Angelo, initiated by the investment bank Lazard, are well advanced. The idea of a card-for-card exchange with a listed company is popular, also because it would allow for a rapid disengagement of the investment”.

“The knot of the price would still have to be resolved – continues the newspaper – but even here the distances are not far away. Air France would offer an exchange rate of 1,6, which would value the Cai package by about 20% more than the billion paid at the start".

In the wake of this indiscretion, apparently wrong, this morning the title of Immsi has given wings to Piazza Affari, gaining 14%, with a maximum of 0,518 euros. Immsi holds about 7% of Cai. At the start of the afternoon the shares are still up over 12 points.
