Full professor of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the Sapienza University of Rome, Gianni Orlandi succeeds Francesco Sclafani who remains on the board.

Time for appointments also for Agcom. Gianni Orlandi takes the place of Francesco Sclafani, whose office ended on 31 March 2021, and becomes the new chairman of the Supervisory Body. The SB was set up by the Communications Guarantee Authority (Agcom) to independently monitor and verify that all telecommunications operators have equal treatment in accessing Tim's network infrastructures and to carry out specific analysis activities and study in support of the Authority.

They are part of the Supervisory Body 5 members, of which 3 chosen by Agcom (including the president) and 2 by Tim. In addition to Orlandi, the former president Francesco Sclafani, Maurizio Mensi, Fabio Di Marco and Giovanni Amendola appear on the board of the SB. 

Gianni Orlandi is full professor of electrical engineering at the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications of the Engineering Faculty of the Sapienza University of Rome. He is a member of the scientific council of the Roma Sapienza Foundation and has held numerous positions at the Roman University, including adviser for University Policies, pro-rector for Strategic Planning, pro-rector, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and director of the Department of Science and Technology of Information and Communications (Infocom) and the Department of Information, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
