At the airports of Rome an era ends and everything changes. The entire summit will be renewed at the next budget meeting on 20 April. In addition to the CEO Lorenzo Lo Presti, who died suddenly at the end of January, a big name like the president Fabrizio Palenzona will be replaced. The turning point had been in the air for some time, that is, since Palenzona had been investigated by the Florentine judiciary for alleged aiding and abetting mafia clans in relation to his position as vice president of Unicredit and, although the judicial investigations had not been followed up, the Benetton family, which controls AdR through Atlantia, had decided to turn the page and renew the image and management of the airport company.
It is a turning point that marks the resumption of full control, including management, of AdR by Atlantia and its CEO, Giovanni Castellucci, in first person. It will be Castellucci himself, together with Gilberto Benetton, who will choose the future top management of AdR and in particular the new managing director, who will have to be a manager he absolutely trusts. Precisely for this reason, even if twists and turns cannot be ruled out, in the last few hours the hypothesis of an internal choice within the Atlantia group is gaining ground, where high-level professionals are not lacking even for a delicate mission such as the full relaunch of the airports From Rome.
