She died this morning, after a long illness faced with great courage, Rossella Bocciarelli, for many years fine journalist of the Sole 24 Ore with a focus on the activities of the Bank of Italy but also on banks and the macroeconomy.

Rossella, who had a mild and sunny character but also great determination, had graduated in Economics from the La Sapienza University of Rome where she had acquired a very solid economic background. After the experience at Mondo Economico, Rossella moved on to Il Sole 24 Ore where – except for a parenthesis at L'Espresso – she continued to write until the last few days. On April 20, you wrote an acute analysis entitled "Why the pandemic will do terrible harm to the world economy".

Highly esteemed in the Bank of Italy, Rossella had written a wonderful book about "Italian writers on economics" about ten years ago together with the then Deputy Director Pierluigi Ciocca.
