Stable AAA: Fitch has confidence in the US

Before the launch of Wall Street, Fitch confirmed its US debt rating at triple A with a stable outlook. A week ago the Standard & Poor's agency had cut the rating of American bonds to AA+, throwing the markets into a panic. The third US rating agency, Moody's, however, recently changed its outlook to negative, stating that it could revise its rating before 2013 if fiscal discipline were to loosen in the next few months or if the economy were to get much worse.
