Invitalia has awarded to FiberCop, which won the tender, contributions from the National Fund for Connectivity for a maximum amount equal to 712,5 million euro to ensure the coverage over 477 thousand citizens on the national territoryThis is stated in a press release. Public funding may cover up to 70% of eligible expenses, and the interventions must guarantee residents connectivity services with expected speeds, even during peak traffic hours, of at least 1 Gbit/s download and 200 Mbit/s upload.
FiberCop: €712 million from the Connectivity Fund
The National Connectivity Fund is implemented in accordance with the decision of the Ecofin Council of November 27, 2025, and the Implementation Agreement signed on February 4, 2026, between the Department for Digital Transformation and Invitalia. The initiative is part of Mission 1 – Component 2 – Investment 7 of the PNRR.
The 477 thousand house numbers are distributed in 7 geographical lots: Northern Tuscany (78.858) Southern Tuscany (52.713) Friuli-Venezia Giulia-Trento/Bolzano-Veneto (71.069) Emilia-Romagna-Marche-Umbria (72.033) Abruzzo-Lazio-Molise-Sardinia (53.526) Piedmont-Aosta Valley-Liguria-Lombardy (57.401) Basilicata-Campania-Puglia-Calabria-Sicily (91.921).
