The sale of the famous Borsalino hats shows no sign of slowing down, but the famous hat factory in Alessandria still risked bankruptcy. But according to the latest news, a white knight would be willing to go all out to save the company from bankruptcy.
Borsalino, a company famous throughout the world for the sale of its hats, was the subject of the largest financial crash in Italy after Parmalat estimated at around 3 billion. At the center of Borsalino's bankruptcy is the financier Marco Marenco who, after bringing a more than thriving business to its knees, fled abroad following the arrest warrants issued by the court of Alessandria. The news of Marenco's arrest by the Ticino police was released last week.
Following the crash and Marenco's escape, Borsalino's new board of directors attempted to save what could be saved. But in recent days the Council headed by Marco Moccia has decided to ask the court of Alessandria for an arrangement with creditors "which allows the restructuring of debts and the satisfaction of credits", but which could also have led to the bankruptcy of Borsalino if he had not intervened in help of the famous hat factory an Italian-Swiss white knight.
His name is Philippe Camperio, 43 years old, he is a financier from Geneva with an Italian passport, the man to whom the heads of Borsalino have decided to entrust the future of the company. The entrepreneur, active in the luxury sector, will lease the company and then, at the end of the agreement, through the Haeres Equita fund, will take over 100% of the historic factory in Alessandria.
