Zuccoli (A2a): "Tremonti contacts the French for the reorganization of Edison"

The president of A2a declared that "the Italian government cannot opt out of the game" of Edison's restructuring. “Tremonti contacts the French” – A new management board is expected at the end of the month.

On the sidelines of the A2a Management Board (in which the second quarter results), the president Giuliano Zuccoli declared that "the Italian government cannot opt out of the game" of the Edison restructuring. Zuccoli added that "it is up to Minister Tremonti to take charge of contacting the French".

The French are therefore looking for words of comfort to prevent the Government from hindering the operation through which Edf should take control of the Milanese utility, in the wake of the attitude shown towards the takeovers by the big transalpine companies of Parmalat and Bulgari.

Zuccoli also recalls the declarations of the managing director Henry Proglio who on Friday, on the occasion of the presentation of Edf's accounts, said he considered reassurances from the Economy Minister regarding the reorganization of Edison's governance necessary.

The negotiations with Edf will be discussed in another management meeting scheduled for the end of the month.
