Vodafone chooses the sustainable smartphone: starting from 9th December, will offer its customers the opportunity to choose one ethical smartphone e planet, in full respect of the planet.
The choice fell on 3 Fairphone, the new telephone from Fairphone, a Dutch social enterprise that has been engages in the design of devices designed to bridge the gap between performance and sustainability. Each Fairphone 3 is packaged in sustainable, reusable packaging and is made with responsibly sourced tin and tungsten in conflict-free areas, recycled copper and plastics, and Fairtrade-certified gold. Fairphone rewards buyers who return their old phones.
The initiative stems from the international partnership between Fairphone and Vodafone and is in line with the telecommunications company's goal of improving the lives of 1 billion people and halving its environmental impact by 2025, by reducing its carbon footprint and purchasing electricity from renewable sources.
Vodafone's agenda includes a commitment to reuse, resell or recycle 100% of its network's waste and help customers extend the life of the devices they already own.
For consumer customers, Fairphone 3 will be available, online only, in combination with Vodafone offers starting from 9 December, while for i Vodafone Business customers will be available for purchase at all sales channels, even online.
Long battery life, front and rear cameras and high-performance Qualcomm 632 processor are some of the flagship specifications of the new born in the Fairphone house.
