We start again with the AstraZeneca vaccine. After the green light from the EMA which, after three days of analysis, judged the vaccine "safe and effective”, the Regions will be able to resume administrations, trying to make up for the three days lost due to the precautionary suspension during which they are about 200 vaccinations missed.
In Italy it starts again at 15 pm today, but as per tradition, each territory will go in no particular order, hoping to recover the lost ground in the next two weeks.
VACCINES: LOMBARDY, LAZIO, PUGLIA AND SICILY
Lombardy and Lazio have confirmed the appointments for those who had already been called up for this afternoon. The administrations skipped until 15 pm today will instead be rescheduled. According to the forecasts of the Lombardy Region, the accumulated delay will be recovered in a week.
Similar setting for Sicily, where at 15 pm today the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine will restart for the over 70s, teachers and law enforcement agencies. The Region has made it known that the offices of the Department of Health are already rescheduling the appointments, sending text messages to citizens who are entitled to vaccination and who had a reservation for 15, 16, 17, 18 March and up to 15 of 19 March.
In Puglia at 15 we start again with the police. Then it will be up to the school staff and the other categories who will have to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.
EMILIA ROMAGNA AND TUSCANY
Setting similar to the previous ones also for Emilia Romagna. The Region has communicated that: “those who had booked an appointment for the days in which the suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine was in force will receive a communication from the Health Authorities with the date of the new appointment. Anyone who already had a vaccination appointment starting today (March 19) at 15 pm and in the following days, and has not been notified of any changes so far, will keep the appointment already set and will be able to show up regularly at the indicated vaccination point. Indications have already been given to all the healthcare companies to strengthen the activity and resume the planned one relating to AstraZeneca ".
In Tuscany, citizens who already have a reservation from 15 pm today will have to go to the indicated vaccination center. Those who, on the other hand, have received a cancellation notice due to the suspension imposed at national level, will have to resume an appointment, but will benefit from priority. The administrations should be recovered between 22 and 25 March.
LIGURIA, UMBRIA AND MARCHE
In Liguria and Umbria, the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine will resume starting from Monday 22 March, while in the Marche it will start again on Saturday 20 March after notifying those who already had an appointment.
