Utilities, the Agici-Accenture Observatory workshop in the new Italian market

On 5 May 2022, from 9:30 to 13, the workshop on the twenty-second edition of theAgici-Accenture Utilities Observatory, at Palazzo Clerici in Milan. The title chosen for this year is “The new Italian utilities market“. The Observatory's Working Paper, which will be presented during the event, will offer an analysis of the various Italian scenarios, analyzing the possible effects that would derive from the activation of targeted interventions in the field of energy transformation.

Geopolitical balances, sustainability and the role of the PNRR

The Italian and European energy market continues in its phase of intense evolution. If in the two-year period 2020-2021 it was Covid that influenced the change, in 2022 it is the dramatic conflict in Ukraine that dominates the scene and imposes challenges never seen before on the sector:

• gas and electricity prices continue their tumultuous growth and volatility.

• the changed geopolitical balance requires tracing new routes for energy supplies

In the current context, renewables and energy efficiency – already at the heart of the PNRR and of the process of rapid technological innovation – assume a central and strategic role for the reduction of energy dependence, as well as the emissions of climate-altering gases of the old continent.

At the Agici-Accenture Observatory's annual Workshop on Utilities, now in its XXII edition, top managers will discuss the evolution of the energy and environmental markets and the role that their companies can play in this process of change, having the well-being of the communities and territories.

During the first round table, coordinated by PierFederico Pelotti of Accenture, the key themes will be PNRR and territorial competitiveness.

The second group, moderated by Marco Carta of Agici, will deal with the prospective scenarios of the Italian energy market.

The final phase of the Workshop will be dedicated to prizegiving of "Manager Utilities 2021” in the Energy and Local Public Services sector, voted by the Committees of the Review “Management delle Utilities e delle Infrastrutture”, accredited by AIDEA.
