US: Treasury Secretary Bessent Towards Resignation in Disagreement with Trump on Tariffs. Cruz Loyalist: “It Will Be a Bloodbath”

I duties are beginning to show their disastrous effects. Not only on the United States, on the 80 countries affected and on the stock exchanges around the world, but also on theTrump administration, which could soon lose one of its big guns. Three days after the tariffs were announced, while in the US they are scheduled for today 1.200 against the president, the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reportedly ready to resign in disagreement with Trump's trade policies that have already KO'd international markets and could send America into recession, causing inflation to soar.

During the program Morning joe on MSNBC, journalist Stephanie Ruhle explained that Bessent would have tried to do everything possible to limit the impact of Trump's policies on the US economy, trying to bring the president to more moderate counsels. The result? It would be increasingly isolated within the star-spangled administration.

A former hedge fund manager with a solid reputation on Wall Street, the Treasury Secretary is well aware of the damage caused by Trump's tariffs and is apparently looking for a way out before his position becomes untenable and, above all, before his credibility, earned with years of hard work, evaporates completely. According to Ruhle, therefore, Bessent fears that the current situation is harming him and would aim to reach the Fed in order to leave the Trump administration.

Even the most faithful Cruz against the duties

But as the hours pass, the voices of dissent increase, even from "unsuspecting" people. The Republican senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, a Trump loyalist has warned his party against a potential “bloodbath” in the elections of Midterms 2026 if Donald Trump's tariffs send the US economy into recession.

In his podcast, Cruz predicted a “terrible” fate for the world's largest economy if a full-blown trade war erupts and Trump's tariffs, as well as any retaliatory measures on U.S. goods, remain in place in the long term. The comments from Cruz, a close ally of the president, are the starkest warning from a Republican lawmaker since the U.S. tariffs were imposed.

Musk at the League Congress: “I hope for a future without tariffs”

“I hope that the US and Europe will be able to create a very close partnership, there is already an alliance but I hope it will be closer and stronger. And regarding duties we will move in a zero-tariff situation in the future, towards a free trade zone". He said it Elon Musk in video link with the League congress, answering a question from Matteo Salvini. Musk added: “It is my hope for the future”, assuring that “this is the advice I gave to the president (Trump, ed). "

Trump: “Hold on, we will win”

But US President Donald Trump has no intention of listening to even his closest allies. And while fears are rising around the world about the effects of a possible trade war, he plays golf at Mar-a-Lago. And in the meantime, he sends messages via social media: “We will win. Resist, It won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic,” he wrote on Truth, assuring that his economic policies are “bringing jobs and businesses back like never before.”
