Unioncamere: companies cannot find 47 workers

Firms cannot find workers. It sounds strange, but that's exactly how it is. At a time when supply (i.e. potential workers) is high and demand from the private sector is slowing down (think that the non-seasonal hirings scheduled this year were 367.500, 40 fewer than those forecast in 2012), it is difficult to find suitable personnel.

A good 47 profiles are being sought: among the graduates, the first in the standings are software and business management experts, programmer analysts; among graduates, software developers, drafters and social and health assistants are in high demand. As many as 13 out of 2013 hires this year will never see a signing on a contract. The figures emerge from the annual analysis of the Excelsior information system of Unioncamere and the Ministry of Labour. They were presented in Verona on the occasion of «Job&Orienta XNUMX», the appointment on orientation, school, training and work.

The positive fact is that the number of 'untraceable' has decreased compared to 2012 when they were over 65. And, above all, compared to 2008, when they reached 217, equal to 26,2%. In 6,2% of hires (one percentage point less than in 2012), however, companies complain of skills that are not adequate for the tasks to be performed, which may concern training, the necessary experience and some transversal skills (ability to work in a team, problem solving skills, flexibility and adaptation). A problem that affects both graduates and graduates but which is reported quite frequently for some diploma courses considered difficult to find this year, including agriculture-food, IT and mechanics.

So much so that Ferruccio Dardanello, president of Unioncamere commented: "The survey demonstrates how important it is to work on the two fronts of orientation and the alternation between study and work". And he added: "Today it is even more necessary to put the cards in the hands of our young people to choose, with awareness, the path that opens up a future of work and satisfaction for them and to support the company with school".

This year the Italian market should hire just over 367 people. Among these 160 graduates. To which are added the over 58 graduates. The 'difficult to find' recruitments should be thirteen out of a hundred. With a difference depending on the qualification. Because if among the graduates the 'untraceable' are in line with the general average, among those who have finished university the rate rises to 19 percent.
