Unicredit: the courts of Bologna and Milan transfer jurisdiction over the Brontos case

The investigating judge of the Bologna court, Maurizio Millo, suspended the judgment on the Brontos case by appealing to his own territorial incompetence, which would instead belong to his colleagues in the Milan court, from whom he had received the case on the basis of the same reasons.
The documents of the trial have already been sent to the Court of Cassation for it to decide definitively which court is competent to rule on the case.

The Brontos affair takes its name from the homonymous structured finance operation with which Unicredit allegedly hid 245 million euros from the tax authorities. For this reason, the Bologna prosecutor's office requested the indictment of Alessandro Profumo, number one of Unicredit at the time of the events, and 19 other people.

At 14,54 pm today, Unicredit shares lost 2,55%, in line with the performance of other banks following the Société Général report.
