Unicredit, Ghizzoni: "No impact from increases in capital requirements in Austria"

The increase in capital requirements imposed on the main companies Austrian banks it doesn't scare us. To say it is the CEO of Unicredit Federico Ghizzoni, commenting on the decision of the Austrian authorities to raise the equity requirements by three percentage points: “The news finds us prepared, also because there was already an indication that we would go in that direction. It doesn't impact much on the group."

According to Ghizzoni, in fact, the requirements of the subsidiary Bank Austria, the leading bank in the country, are already almost in line with the new rules: "The question to be asked - noted Ghizzoni however - is more than anything else whether this makes the Austrian market attractive for investments future. Higher and higher demands on capital ultimately don't make returns on capital so attractive."
