Unicredit e UniCredit Allianz Insurance, a company 50% owned by Unicredit and Allianz, presented theLithium option di Allianz (in the cover Protected Driving Car), a particular insurance that offers specific and tailor-made guarantees and services for electric cars or plug-in hybrids. The Auto Protected Guide coverage, in addition to the traditional protections typical of a car policy, through the Lithium option covers all typical risks of electric cars and plug-in hybrids. Created to meet eco-sustainable needs

Allianz Lithium has been designed to respond to customer needs and the new market eco-sustainable technologies. Electric cars have a specific technology, they drive differently and have new repair procedures. Furthermore, the traction battery has very high costs which can reach up to 50% of the cost of the car.

Electric car market in constant growth

Il market of electric and hybrid cars is constantly growing. According to Istat, at the end of 2021, the total number of electric and hybrid cars (with all degrees of electrification) was around 1.150.000 units in Italy, equal to the 2,9% of the circulating fleet. Compared to 2020, the number has doubled with an increase of 92,9% year on year.

By 2030, Italy has two goals to be achieved: 6 million vehicles on the road and a 25% market share for full electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
