Unicredit: B2B, export platform at the start

Being close to Italian companies in a rapidly evolving technological world to help them welcome the great opportunities coming from international markets: this is the goal of UniCredit which led to the birth of DigitalB2B by UniCredit, a platform designed to encourage exports, making it easier for sellers from all over Italy to meet foreign buyers.

The online platform – developed internally – allows videoconference interaction with a large number of globally distributed counterparties. All you need is a PC, tablet or smartphone to meet your interlocutors, with clear savings in costs and times, such as travel and overnight stays.

“The Italian economy – he recalled Gabriel Piccini, Country Chairman Italy of UniCredit – includes excellence recognized worldwide in sectors such as food and wine, tourism and fashion. Our goal is to continue supporting these companies, also taking advantage of the important investments that UniCredit is making in terms of digitization for the benefit of its customers. We thus want to follow up on the many initiatives already undertaken by the bank for companies interested in reaping the benefits of internationalization: in the last 3 years alone, UniCredit has organized 40 B2B meetings and involved partners in 26 countries, registering the participation and interest of 2.300 Italian client companies and 600 top international buyers. Overall, 14.500 one-to-one meetings were organised”.

The first DigitalB2B event, which has registered about 130 Italian wineries and 30 foreign Buyers operating in the UK, Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, and Central Eastern Europe, is currently underway and will last until 4 March, in partnership with ICE- Agency, and is reserved for companies in the wine sector registered to participate in the 50th edition of Vinitaly, which will take place in April in Verona.

“We enthusiastically support this UniCredit initiative – said Roberto Luongo, General Manager of ICE-Agenzia – which represents the 2.0 version of a real virtual market that takes the form of real and direct meetings on the occasion of the next Vinitaly. For the 2016 edition of the largest event dedicated to the world of wine, ICE-Agenzia organizes, in collaboration with Verona Fiere, a busy incoming program of over 250 operators identified in more than 30 foreign countries, which includes the top buyers involved in the DigitalB2B Wine project”.
