EU, investigation into agreements between airports and low-cost airlines

The financial agreements between the public authorities and the airports of Charleroi (Belgium), Angouleme (France) and Dortmund (Germany) end up in the sights of the EU. Indeed, the European Commission will investigate to verify in particular whether the discounts and marketing agreements between these airports and some airlines, including especially Ryanair, are in line with state aid rules.

Brussels has thus broadened the scope of the investigation begun in 2002 on the benefits granted to the low-cost airline Ryanair for the use of Charleroi airport.
