For holders of a UBI Banca credit card (Hybrid, Libra, Kalìa) the digital payment systems Samsung Pay and Google Pay are now also available, which allow pay directly via smartphone and smartwatch at any contactless POS. For now, the service only applies to credit cards, but the bank has already communicated which in the coming months will also be extended to debit and prepaid cards.
To activate Samsung Pay, just download and open the app of the same name, and enter your UBI credit card details, following the instructions. To pay, simply view the card by dragging your finger across the screen from bottom to top, authenticate yourself with your irises, fingerprint or Pin and finally bring your device close to the POS. Among other things, Samsung Pay allows you to pay in this way even at non-contactless enabled terminals as it supports, in addition to NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, also MST (Magnet Secure Transmission) technology.
For Google Pay however, all Android users can now do the same operation: download the Google Pay app and enter their UBI Banca credit card details. To pay in shops, the operation will be even simpler and faster: just bring your mobile phone close to the contactless POS, or use it directly on dozens of websites and applications, using the credit cards saved on your Google account.
The services, guarantees the bank, are made safe by high security protocols made available by the two providers that do not memorize on the devices and do not share the data of the original card with the merchants. “This novelty will make our customers' payment experience even more immediate, fast and secure, even for low amounts typically handled by cash. The new payment system can indeed
be used, for example, in commercial establishments such as bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, as well as
to place orders at home, or even buy concert and theater tickets,” he commented
