Ubi Banca: Massiah, repurchase of minorities simplifies group shareholdings. No to mergers

The repurchase of the minorities held by Aviva in Banca Popolare Commercio e Industria, in Popolare di Ancona and in Banca Carime represents for Ubi Banca an operation that "simplifies the group's shareholdings" and which is not preparatory to any merger between the subsidiaries.

This was announced by the managing director Victor Massiah, on the sidelines of the conference to present the book "For women who help women". Massiah added that the operation "is valid in itself" and absolutely does not prelude to mergers between the companies of the group.

When asked about the capital increases recently launched by various Italian banks, the managing director reiterated that Ubi does not need any reinforcement.

The Ubi Banca share closed the day in Piazza Affari up 7,57%.
