Ubi Banca buys 5% of Green Arrow Capital

Ubi Banca has acquired 5% of Green Arrow Capital, an independent Italian operator active in the alternative investment sector, with assets under management of approximately €1,7 billion. The credit institution communicates it in a note, specifying that the operation was carried out through a reserved capital increase.

The goal is to increase Green Arrow Capital's assets with institutional capital to "seize any consolidation opportunities in the private equity and private debt sector," reads the note.

Furthermore, Green Arrow Capital is about to launch new funds, "which will invest in the most productive areas of the territory, initially through the private debt sector of GAC and to follow with that of Private Equity - continues the note - Through a tenth fund, and among the largest in terms of collection targets, it will also be possible to boost investments in major works of public interest in areas of real need for the country".

Vincenzo DeFalco, Head of Investment Banking at Ubi, speaks of Gac as a "high quality team, with an interesting growth project and a multi-sector investment strategy consistent with the Bank's objectives, which intends to increase exposure to equity in diversified investment platforms that care about sustainability”.

Luisa Todini, partner and president of Green Arrow Capital, stresses instead that the company has "grown rapidly" and that "the entry of a partner of excellence can only give new impetus" to the project.

To date, around 200 investors have invested in Gac funds, of which 90% attributable to institutional entities (banks, sovereign wealth funds, funds of funds, banking foundations, social security funds, pension funds and insurance companies) and around 20% of international origin .

Green Arrow Capital now operates in three different investment strategies (private equity, private debt and clean energy & infrastructure) and aims to expand its business with the launch of Funds dedicated to alternative investments.
