Transport, strike wave coming

Very hot week. Main problems foreseen for Rome on Thursday 20 July, when the Atac staff will stop. Possible inconvenience for planes and ferries on Wednesday 26 July, when EasyJet staff and a part of ENAV staff will stop

Numerous strikes in the transport sector are planned in the main Italian cities until the end of July. On Monday 17 July disruptions are expected in Genoa, due to the four-hour stoppage of ATM workers called by Cub Trasporti. As far as the railways are concerned, Fast Mobilità has asked its members to abstain from the working day at the terminal Porta Nuova in Turin. 

However, the main problems for mobility are foreseen for Thursday 20 July in the capital. In fact, the employees will stop attack; members of the Orsa union will cross their arms for 24 hours, while those of the Basic Union (USB) will only stop for the morning (8:30-12:30). 

The Usb has also invited the staff of the Ctp to go on strike Napoli

On Tuesday 25, according to the strike calendar published on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure, inconvenience is expected due to the stoppage of local public transport called by CGIL, CISL and UIL in the Apulian cities of Bari e Trani. Expected problems also for the connections maritime of Liberty Airlines at Sicily. 

On July 26 it will be the turn of the airplane transport: the Unitary Confederation of Base (CUB) proclaimed a 4-hour general strike by workers in the sector, from 13:00 to 17:00. On the same day, the cabin crew will stop for 4 hours Easy Jet adherent to Fit Cisl and Enav personnel adherent to Unic.
