Tirrenia: today the signature for the sale to Cin of Moby and Clessidra

Today Tirrenia passes into the hands of the Moby-Clessidra consortium. Tonight the final signature for the sale of the shipping company, in extraordinary administration, to the newco Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione (Cin), 40% owned by Vincenzo Onorato's Moby, 30% by Clessidra, 20% by Luigi Negri's Gip and 10% by the entrepreneur Francesco Izzo.

The value of the operation is 380 million, of which 200 will be paid immediately, while the remaining amount will be paid in three tranches.

Yesterday evening the Ministry of Transport formalized the agreement that will assign Cin 72 million a year for 8 years to cover the losses made on the anti-economic winter routes. For the sale, Cin took advantage of a loan equal to approximately 75% of the total price granted by a pool of institutions, led by Unicredit and Banca Imi.

The signing puts an end to the disposal of Tirrenia, initially in the hands of Fintecna and then under extraordinary administration, which began with the first tender launched in January 2010.
