Recognize fake news by developing a critical mind. This is the goal of the new free training program created by Tim against fake news intended for primary and secondary schools. Registration for the first cycle of Appointment with Digital Media lessons is officially open.

Il free training program created by Tim for the Italian Digital Media Observatory (IDMO) aims to combat false and distorted news on the net and to teach the correct and conscious use of the media. Interested schools, teachers and students will be able to register for each lesson directly from education page by IDMO.

In particular, the training cycle includes live lessons in the virtual classroom and on demand, video pills on the topics of Digital and Media Literacy, as well as interactive games and a sign language service. The course will be completed with learning tests and a certificate of participation for teachers which can be recognized on SOFIA, the MIUR platform which certifies teacher training. Furthermore, the title of Digital & Media Educator will be awarded to the schools that will participate most actively.

Tim against fake news: the calendar of the first cycle of lessons

It starts on March 23 with "The ABC of digital", an appointment that will help to understand the importance of digital skills in contemporary society. It then continues on April 6 with "We are all creators", to reflect and learn about the methods, languages ​​and effects of creating content for the web. April 20th is scheduled for "Privacy and Copyright", to identify the critical aspects of creating and sharing content. Instead, on May 4th the appointment will be with "Information disorder", to learn how to critically evaluate information and recognize fake news.

Furthermore, this training program is accompanied by the activities carried out by the Tim Data Room, the company unit which analyzes digital data coming from the network and which will carry out specific analyzes for IDMO with the aim of illustrating what happens online when untrue information is disseminated .
