Ti Media: revenues down, but La7 flies

Ebitda is positive for 28 million, an improvement of 14,8 million compared to 2010 – La7 revenues for 2011 amount to 139,9 million, an increase of 21% compared to 2010 – Strong growth due to gross advertising sales of the channels (+32,1%).

In 2011 Telecom Italia Media recorded revenues of 238,2 million euros, down by 7,9% compared to the previous year. The Operating income however, although negative by 30,7 million, it is a clear improvement compared to the -46 million of 2010. This was communicated in a note by the company, which examined last year's preliminary data today. Ebitda is positive for 28 million, an improvement of 14,8 million compared to 2010.

THEnet financial debt at the end of December it amounted to 138,7 million, an increase of 23,2 million compared to the end of 2010. The results were obtained also thanks to the income of 20,5 million relating to the indemnity paid by Telecom Italia for the early termination of the Competence Center contract, which expired on December 31, 2012.

I revenues of La7 for 2011 they amounted to 139,9 million, an increase of 21% compared to 2010. The strong growth in advertising revenue gross of the La7 channels (+32,1%), in sharp contrast with the decline in the television market, thanks to which the reduction in revenues of the Network Operator and the decline in turnover of MTV (-24,5 %).

The trend in gross advertising revenues for La7 also continued in the first two months of 2012, with an increase of approximately 35% compared to the same period of 2011. Revenues fromNetwork Operator (Timb) in 2011 they amounted to 54,9 million and decreased by 21,2 million compared to 2010, mainly due to the loss relating to the customer Dahlia TV. Timb completely leased the available bandwidth, thanks to the contracts stipulated in the last months of 2011 and in the first part of 2012.

About an hour after the close of the markets, the Ti Media stock gains more than three and a half points in Piazza Affari. 

“The results are preliminary – he said the managing director of the company, Giovanni Stella – the work on the impairment test which will be carried out during the last week of February and the first weeks of March is still missing and we have planned to carry out the Board of Directors for the approval of the budget and the plan on 20 March”.
