The trains of the Taipei metro will be Calabrian. Hitachi Rail Italy presented, at the Reggio Calabria plant, the first train of the new automatic subway destined for the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of the local government of the municipality of Taipei.
Hri has delivered the first 4 carriages which are part of a large supply (which was awarded to Hri in joint venture with Ansaldo Sts which will build the signaling system) which will see 2018 vehicles completed by the autumn of 17 for a total total of 68 funds for an amount, for the HRI portion alone, of approximately 110 million euro.
Each train, in the configuration of 4 aluminum cases, is just over 68 meters long, 2,65 meters wide, can carry 98 seated and 555 standing passengers and can reach a speed of 80 km/h.
