In July 2017, according to data from Terna, the company that manages the National Electricity Grid, the demand for electricity was 29,3 billion kWh, an increase of +0,5% compared to the volumes of the same month of the 'last year.

The performance of demand in the first seven months of 2017 grew by +1,2% compared to the corresponding period of 2016. With the same calendar, the result is +1,7. At the territorial level, the trend change in July 2017 was positive everywhere: +0,2% in the North, +0,7% in the Center and 0,9% in the South.

In cyclical terms, the seasonally adjusted value of electricity demand in July 2017 recorded a negative change compared to the previous month (-5,3%). The trend profile moves to a stationary trend.

In July 2017, 87,5% of electricity demand was met with domestic production net of pumping (+1,7% of net production compared to July 2016) and the remainder from imports (foreign balance -6,4% compared to July 2016).

In detail, net national production (25,8 billion kWh) increased by +1,7% compared to July 2016. Wind (+33,9%), photovoltaic (+5,8 .4,5%), thermal (+0,8%) and geothermal (+15,1%); the water source decreased (-XNUMX%).

The maximum power requested in July 2017 was 54.535 MW; this value was achieved on Thursday 13 at 16 pm and is +1,8% higher than the value recorded at the peak of the corresponding month of July 2016.
