Tesla, the "low cost" electric car fails

As for the "economic" Model 3, things are going a little slow, especially considering the initial estimate of 1.500 units per month during the first phase.

As usual, Tesla communicated the data relating to the production of the just ended quarter which marked a new record of cars delivered for Musk's company, even if the flop of the Model 3 is to be recorded, the electric car considered more accessible to the general public, which disappointed by selling only 260 vehicles, of which only 220 have already been delivered.

In detail, in the third quarter, 14.065 Model S and 11.865 Model X were delivered, which represents an increase of 4.5% over the previous three months, and +17.7% over the same period last year. As far as the “cheap” Model 3 is concerned, things are going a little slow, especially considering the initial estimate of 1.500 units per month during the first phase.

According to Tesla's official press release, it is important to underline that there are no specific problems on the assembly line, but only bottlenecks due to already identified problems which will soon be corrected to exponentially increase deliveries. On the sidelines of this already impressive result, there are another 4.820 Model S and X already assembled and ready to move, which will then be counted in the last quarter of 2017.
