Terna awarded for transparent digital communication

Terna wins the 2021-2022 edition of the “Webranking Europe 500”. The operator of the national electricity grid achieved a record score of 95,9 out of 100, up 3,8 points compared to the previous year. Based on the results published by the Swedish company that takes care of the ranking, Comprend, Terna stood out for one effective and transparent digital communication in the areas of Investor Relations, Sustainability/ESG and People.

This is the main continental ranking which for over twenty years has been assessing the quality and transparency of the digital communication of the 500 largest listed European companies on the basis of stakeholder expectations.

Following the pandemic, digitization has become an essential element of the life of the company and its relationships with stakeholders; thus Terna during 2021 decided to further focus attention on digital communication, sustainability and ESG issues.

One of the more recent examples is Terna4Green, the new digital platform that connects the tons of CO2 not emitted into the atmosphere with the production of electricity from renewable sources, thus making it possible to monitor progress towards international decarbonisation objectives.

Particular attention was also paid to accessibility - as underlined in a press release - Terna was the first utility in Italy to publish the company's financial statements on its website in an accessible format for blind people, thus obtaining the certification of the LIA Foundation – Accessible Italian Books, a reality that for years has supported companies and institutions in making publications, websites and applications accessible to those with a visual impairment. In addition, in recent months, there has been intense work to make all the non-text content of the Terna.it site accessible.

Finally, Terna has strongly focused on digital formats and channels (LinkedIn, website, company blog), rather than more traditional methods, to involve young talents. Since 1997, the Webranking research has been monitoring corporate and financial communication on the digital channels of the main European listed companies, measuring the gap between stakeholder expectations and companies' responses.
