Terna launches award for sustainable startups

A call for startups that will identify 10 finalists, from which a jury will then select the winner, who will receive a prize of 15.000 euros. The Call for Innovation EES – Energy Efficiency for Sustainability, launched by Terna together with the subsidiary Come and with the support of Digital Magics, is aimed at startups, SMEs, micro-enterprises and individuals who prove to be champions of sustainability, proposing solutions in the following areas:

  • Hardware and software management systems and help for microgrids (microgrid) with low environmental impact
  • Innovative sensors for monitoring online of indoor environmental parameters
  • Advanced analytics algorithms which, through innovative systems, are able to effectively exploit the data already present on the platform coming from field monitoring.
  • Thermochemical cold storage at the service of GDO (Large Organized Distribution)
  • Thermochemical storage of heat at the service of the industry
  • Production of technical gases from the recovery of thermal waste: engineering of systems for the production of technical gases (O2, H2, N2, etc.) through the recovery of thermal potential coming out of industrial furnaces

Among all the projects sent by 21 October 2020 on the site they will be selected up to 10 finalists who will have the opportunity to participate in the pitch day of 2 December 2020, dedicated to the presentation of the innovative solutions they have developed themselves. A jury will identify the startup that will win, as mentioned, a prize of 15.000 euros.

The winning startup, together with other startups of interest, will have access to a co-design phase for the definition of a business case in response to the needs expressed by Terna, aimed at evaluating any commercial and technological partnerships with the selected companies.
