Telecom Italia: Patuano, "there is not only CDP but also other investors"

“There are certainly investors on the market, and also foreign ones”. This was stated by Marco Patuano, managing director Telecom, on the sidelines of an initiative by the European Commission on the digital agenda regarding the Telecom spin-off. The ad also added as, although the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is engaged in structural investments, there are more potential investors than commonly thought.

According to Patuano, the drop in the Telecom share is not linked to the decision of the board of directors, taken last Thursday, to proceed with the spin-off of the fixed network. Telecom Italia shares have lost about 9% since Thursday, with a today's loss which, at 14 pm, stood at 45%; while, the Stoxx Europe 0,75 Telecommunication is down 600% today. The European telecommunications sector appears to be in difficulty, but the Italian giant's performance could also depend on the negative implications of the spin-off, as well as the numerous uncertainties relating to the timing and the possibility of success of this operation.
