Bot rates at lows, the Stock Exchange smiles

The Treasury fills up and allocates all 10 billion euro of Treasuries with falling rates on one-year maturities: 0,703% from 0,922% in April – Btp-Bund spread stable at 255 basis points – Mediobanca flies to Piazza Affari after the yesterday's quarterly, while the accounts presented today launch Generali – The banking sector is doing well, apart from MPS (-0,64%).

The Treasury fills up and assigns all 10 billion euros of Treasuries with declining rates on the one-year maturity. The yield on 12-month Treasuries (7 billion euro placed) fell to 0,703% from 0,922% in April. Demand reached 8,13 billion. All 3 billion euro of 219-day flexible BOTs were also sold at a rate of 0,393%.

For bots, this is the minimum return since the birth of the euro. After the auction, the spread between the BTP and the Bund remained unchanged at 255 basis points. The yield of the 10-year BTP is 3,88%. In the meantime, the differential between the Spanish and German ten-year bonds slips just below the threshold of 290 basis points (289) with the Bonos rate at 4,22%.

Thanks also to the successful outcome of the auction, Piazza Affari confirms its positive trend and remains the best among the European stock exchanges: the Ftse Mib index grows by 1,25% at an altitude of 17.304. European stock markets advanced to new highs in the last five years, continuing to benefit from the adrenaline guaranteed by the Tokyo boom, the stimulus measures of global central banks and some strong quarterly results such as that of ArcelorMittal, the world's leading steel producer, which rises by 4,3% after the first quarter data: Paris +0,51%, Frankfurt +0,6%. London advanced by 0,48%.

In Milan, the good results of the first quarter of the companies are among the propellants of the increase Generali which earns 1,24%. It does much better Mediobanca +4,98%, after yesterday's quarterly. Unicredit  salt of 1,77%, Understanding + 1,9% Banco Popular  +1,52%. Down MontePaschi -0,64%. In balance Pop.Milano +0,02%. In asset management Azimuth advances with an increase of 2,88%, Mediolanum +1,38%. Weak Fonsai -0,54%, runs Premafin + 17%.

In Milan Telecom Italy rises by 1,46%. The board will meet on May 23 to approve the spin-off of the network into a new company. Deutsche Telekom  earn 2%. Good upside of Fiat + 2,56% Fiat Industrial +1,3%. Among industrial stocks, Finmeccanica advances 1,67%, StM +0,36%. Retrieve Prysmian +4,3% after yesterday's fall (-4,9%).

Enel it rose by 1,29% after reaching an agreement with the unions for 3.500 early retirements. Snam  recovers 2,52% after yesterday's 5% drop. Eni + 0,76%.
