Earthquake in Rome. The carabinieri arrested nine people as part of an investigation, coordinated by the Deputy Prosecutor Paolo Ielo, into a criminal association aimed at the commission of corrupt conduct and a series of crimes against the Public Administration in the context of procedures connected to the construction of the new stadium of Roma Tor di Valle.
Nine people subjected to precautionary measures, of which six are in prison and three under house arrest. Among those arrested are the entrepreneur Luca Parnasi, number one of Eurnova, the company that is carrying out the stadium project, and five of his collaborators. Also under arrest were the president of Acea Luca Lanzalone, who followed the dossier on the structure in January-February 2017 as a consultant for the 5 Star council, the vice president of the Regional Council, Adriano Palozzi of Forza Italia, the former regional councilor for Territorial Policies Pier Michele Civita (Pd).
27 suspects, among them also the M5S group leader in Campidoglio Paolo Ferrara. In the first months of 2017 Ferrara had participated in the negotiations with the Parnasi group for the modification of the first draft of the project for the structure that should be built in Tor di Valle.
AS Roma has nothing to do with the facts: the club explained the deputy prosecutor Paolo Ielo "has nothing to do with the investigation". “Roma did nothing wrong, we were transparent: I don't see why the stadium project should stop, everyone wants it and we have to go on. We will solve everything,” said Roma president James Pallotta.
Just yesterday, June 12, mayor Virginia Raggi warned that "the Tor di Valle stadium is approaching". “31 observations on the project have arrived (the time expired on Monday at midnight to submit observations on the variant to the Regulatory Plan) and since Tuesday we have been working to respond on the merits. Let's not waste time ”, explained the first citizen.
The stadium in Tor di Valle is getting closer and closer. We are working tirelessly to shorten the times and carry out this great work that will bring new jobs and improve life in the southern quadrant of the city: https://t.co/8h5hszyHF7 #one stadium done right pic.twitter.com/hv0ZdFP565

Today Raggi runs for cover: "Whoever made a mistake will pay we are on the side of legality. We look forward to reading the cards. At the moment we do not express any opinion. If everything is in order, I hope that the stadium project can go ahead". But, beyond the words of the mayor, the Raggi system and the grillina council of Rome end up under fire.
But there is more than one doubt about the continuation of the project. We remind you that the resolution with the modified project to be sent to the Lazio Region for the definitive ok would be expected in mid-July, but the scandal that broke out today could call everything into question. But now arrests and investigations could impose a halt to the project.
SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING
Luca Lanzalone, involved in the investigation into the new Roma stadium "is still president of Acea: he must resign, it is unthinkable that a person under house arrest is president of Acea". The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Economic Development, Luigi Di Maio, told Rtl, adding: “I expect this gesture in the next few hours. He was a well-prepared person and we had decided to entrust him with the presidency of Acea. What has happened in recent days pains me, but with us whoever makes a mistake pays".
