Sorgente Group: moving forward with diversification and renewables

Sorgente Group continues with its strategic diversification and focuses on renewables. This is the meaning of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the subsidiary Sorgente SEIN, an energy and infrastructure company headed by Valter Mainetti's Sorgente Group Italia, and Saipem, as a global supplier of solutions in the energy and infrastructure. Objective: the construction of plants for the production of biofuels and other renewable energies in Italy and abroad.

Saipem will assist Sorgente SEIN for Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Construction services. The agreement – ​​specifies a press release – “confirms the strategic diversification process of the Sorgente Group towards asset classes that complete and integrate the more traditional real estate sector, which has always characterized its business”.

Sorgente SEIN's portfolio includes negotiations at an advanced stage to acquire over 30 biomethane plants in Italy and 60 in the United States. The photovoltaic sector is also in an advanced stage of development in Spain, Latin America and Ukraine. While Spain and Morocco are at the center of wind power initiatives, for a total investment of over 3 billion.
