Sorgenia and Mabo sign an agreement for the production of energy from renewable sources

The agreement provides for the installation of 15 megawatts per year on a total of 150 square meters of roofing. Thanks to this partnership it will be possible to supply energy from renewables for over 20 Mwh per year and a saving of around 10 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere will be achieved.

Sorgenia and Mabo sign an agreement for the production of energy from renewable sources

Sorgenia and Mabo Group today signed an agreement for the production of energy from renewable sources which provides for the installation of 15 Megawatts per year on a total of 150 square meters of roofing. Thanks to the agreement, it will be possible to supply energy from renewables for over 20 Mwh per year and savings in atmospheric emissions of around 10 tonnes of CO2 will be achieved.

Mabo will take care of creating high energy efficiency buildings with photovoltaic panels for its customers. Sorgenia, on the other hand, will have the task of selling the energy generated at agreed prices. The goal is to promote the diffusion of energy production from solar sources on the pavements of buildings throughout Italy.

“This partnership – explains Riccardo Bani, general manager of Sorgenia – is part of Sorgenia's strategy which is committed to efficient and sustainable energy production, favoring distributed generation from renewable sources. Producing energy in the place where it is consumed benefits the consumer, the distribution networks and the environment. The agreement signed with Mabo Group is an important step to encourage an ever wider diffusion of photovoltaics in industrial areas in Italy”.

Roberto Falsini, president of Mabo Group, comments: “The agreement with Sorgenia will allow us to achieve a dual objective: to reduce costs relating to energy consumption for our customers and at the same time safeguard the environment. We began this journey in 2000 with the Smarthouse project, the energy-independent house, and immediately afterwards we focused on industrial buildings. Today Mabo is the leader in Italy in the construction of buildings that integrate a shell specifically designed to contain energy consumption, with modern photovoltaic roofing. And the synergy with Sorgenia is proof of this”.
