Sony: "Turn off and do not use the Vaio fit 11 series PCs", the problem is in the batteries

There is an alarm on the new laptops of the Sony Vaio fit 11 series. The Japanese group Sony, one of the largest in electronics, invites all users of these PCs to stop using them immediately because a battery problem has been found.

Those who have just purchased a PC of the aforementioned series will therefore have to give it up for at least fifteen days, the time necessary to "start - explains a note from Sony - a system of control and free repair of damaged products".

“There is a risk of battery overheating which could damage a part of the computer,” the group added. The spokesman said 25.905 PCs had been distributed to date. “We ask all customers to immediately turn off the PC, unplug the cable from the electrical outlet and not use the computer”.

The dangerous batteries were not manufactured by Sony but were supplied by the Japanese group Panasonic-Sanyo, one of the world's largest manufacturers of lithium batteries.
