The top management of Il Sole 24 Ore met yesterday with national and local union representatives, to whom the guidelines of the 2017-2020 business plan were also illustrated with reference to the structural reduction in labor costs. In particular, it was communicated that the realignment actions of the structure to the new business model impose, in line with the industrial plan, a structural reduction, in the order of 30% of the current cost of the total workforce, to be completed, at the latest, by the end of the second quarter of 2019.
This reduction is to be considered binding and irrevocable, the newspaper communicated, even if "in order to achieve the objective within said term, the Group makes itself available to evaluate in the appropriate forums the use of any more suitable instrument, among those envisaged by the current system, which is compatible with the plan already approved and suitable for its achievement.
After the meeting, the parties agreed to reconvene soon”, but sparks are expected.
