Snam: 2020 profit at one billion, coupon and buyback ok

Snam will pay a balance on the 2020 dividend of €0,1497 per share, bringing the total coupon amount to 0,2495 euro per share. The dividend will be paid starting from 23 June 2021, with coupon detachment on 21 June and "record date" on 22 June 2021. This was decided today by the shareholders' meeting, which also approved the purchase of treasury shares up to a maximum disbursement of 500 million euro and for a maximum period of 18 months from today.

As for last year's budget, it closes with a Net income equal to approximately 1,015 billion euros.

The CEO of the group, Marco Alvera, said in the meeting that last year Snam invested 1,2 billion euros, 24% more than in 2019, and that it intends to push on this front also in 2021. “We plan to increase the investments this year by another 14%, to 1,4 billion”, added the manager, specifying that almost all the group's investments will be in Italy.

On the environmental front, Snam aims to reduce its own by 2025 methane emissions by 45% compared to 2015. The company has also decided to halve the emissions CO2 equivalent direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) by 2030 in view of achieving the net zero target by 2040.

About two hours after closing, Snam stock on the Stock Exchange travels just below parity, at 4,694 euros per share.
