Snam presented abinding offer for the purchase of 100% of Edison Storage, which manages the storage activities of the Edison group. After the indiscretion published this morning by Corriere della Sera confirmation came from the two companies through a note.

The offer follows the start of exclusive negotiations between Edison and Snam announced on February 24. “Further information relating to the possible conclusion of the negotiations will be promptly communicated to the market”, continues the note which does not provide economic details on the operation. In the previous hours, the Courier, anticipating the news, had spoken of a price of 500-600 million euros in cash, not mentioned in the press release of the two companies.

The figure corresponds to that indicated by Nicholas Monti, CEO of Edison, who had previously declared that the business was worth more than 500 million and that Edison intended to make the most of the asset because it did not need to sell.

Last May 16, in a call with analysts, Il CEO of Snam Stefano Venier Instead, he said the company was in final due diligence for Edison's gas storage assets and expected to make a binding offer by June.

In this context, in Piazza Affari, Snam stock gains 1,83%, while Edison R savings shares lost 0,97%.
