Strike 17 November, Salvini halves it with injunction. The unions don't give up: "Go ahead with the protest"

After the meeting at MIT, without Landini and Bombardieri, the unions confirm the strike on Friday 17 November - Salvini ready to sign the order for the stop from 9 to 12

Strike 17 November, Salvini halves it with injunction. The unions don't give up: "Go ahead with the protest"

Black smoke frommeeting Government-unions. In light of the lack of agreement after the intervention of the Strike Guarantor, who asked for a rethink of the protest for the lack of requirements the general strike, and the failure to respond to the official letter from the ministry inviting them to desist, Matteo Salvini had called the unions to "reach an agreement". The general secretaries of CGIL and UIL did not show up at the short meeting (which lasted about half an hour) at the Ministry of Transport. Maurizio Landini e Pierpaolo Bombardieri. For the CGIL the confederal secretary Maria Grazia Gabrielli participated and for the Uil the organizational secretary Emanuele Ronzoni, the same ones who had had the meeting with the Guarantee Commission for strikes in the public sector. A sign that the match was threatened from the beginning by the wall to wall.

Unions confirm the strike, Salvini decides on injunction

If for the unions the step forward has been made (they removed air transport from the strike and reduced that of the firefighters to four hours), for Salvini it is not enough and on the sidelines of the meeting he assured that, within a few hours, would have sent the communication on precept the strike on Friday 17 November. “We want to protect the millions of Italians who need to travel every day. We want to find a balance between the right to strike and the right to work and mobility." Salvini's orientation is to allow the strike from 9am to 12pm on Friday 17th for the entire transport sector, "with the exception of the aviation sector in which the unions had already confirmed a change of heart", we read in a note from the MIT.

“We confirm the strike, its reasons and its nature as a general strike. The reasons that we brought before the commission and reiterated to Salvini remain. We therefore await the minister to communicate his decision to us shortly,” said Gabrielli. Tomorrow, Wednesday 15 November, at 15.30 pm, in the national headquarters of Uil, the general secretaries of CGIL and Uil will hold a press conference.

What happens if you go on strike with injunction?

Workers must comply with the provision limiting the duration of the strike. Otherwise they snap pecuniary administrative sanctions paid by unions and individual workers: from 500 to 1.000 euros for employees, from 2.500 to 50 thousand for trade unions. If, then, the fine is imposed by the Guarantors it can reach 100 thousand euros. The same trade union organizations can also be excluded from the negotiations in which they participate for a period of four months from the cessation of the behavior.
