The German government attacks Silvio Berlusconi and defends the work of Mario Monti. According to German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaueble, who spoke at the Ecofin entrance, “the Monti government has done better than its predecessor” and achieved “many successes and progress”.
The German minister concluded by stating that "everyone knows this, but I will always repeat the difference between Monti and his predecessor". A real certificate of esteem for the Italian premier, therefore, yet another from the German Executive, and a new chapter in the Monti-Berlusconi dispute, which follows closely Prime Minister's reply in front of the utterances of the last days of the Knight.
