A win the Sanremo Festival 2024 with a final twist it was the one that was considered the favorite of the day before, that is, Angelina Mango who with her song "la noia" brings a woman back to the top step of the Ariston Theatre, ten years since Arisa's last triumph (it was 2014 with the song Controvento).
“You are crazy, thank you very much to the orchestra, to you Amadeus, to Fiorello, to my team, to my family, thank you for coming”, said the 22-year-old artist, daughter of the late Pino Mango, through tears.
Second place was the Neapolitan rapper Geolier, with “I p'me, tu p'te'”, dragged by the televoting votes (60%), who had triumphed (not without controversy) on Friday in the covers evening. Third place for Annalisa with the song “Sincerely”. Fourth place for Ghali, with “Casa mia”, fifth place for Irama with “Tu no”.
Angelina Mango won with 40.3% of the total preferences, considering the three juries (televoting, Press Room, radio jury). Geolier obtained 25.2%, Annalisa 17.1%,
A festival of records
It ends, like this, between the audience record (share always over 65%) e receipts the 74th edition of the Festival, the last (perhaps?) by Amadeus who at the end of the evening hand in hand with Fiorello greeted the Ariston in a carriage: “It's been five wonderful years, bye Sanremo. We love you,” they said as they left.
The Sanremo final was a ratings triumph for Rai. The evening was watched by an average of more than 14 million viewers, for one share of 74.1%. The average share is the highest since 1995.
Other prizes awarded
Before Angelina Mango's victory, the other prizes were also awarded. The critics prize “Mia Martini” went to Loredana Bertè that of Pressroom “Lucio Dalla” to Angelina Mango, the “Sergio Bardotti” award for best text to Fiorella Mannoia, the “Giancarlo Bigazzi” award for best musical composition to Angelina Mango.
