The conversations in the studio on Via Borgonuovo continued for a season, before the project was shelved for years and was revived by the author after Armani's passing.

The story spans his childhood and the war and post-war years., her arrival in Milan and the building of a career destined to change Italian fashion. But it also explores her private life, including affections, passions, choices, regrets, and personal confessions.
