Valentine's Day is also an opportunity to fight against violence against women: the digital energy company presented the results of the #sempre25novembre campaign.

Valentine's Day, Sorgenia gives "energy" to abused women

Valentine's Day, even before love, is respect for women. This is the meaning of the awareness campaign launched by Sorgenia in the last two years on the occasion of the International Day against violence on women, with the hashtag #sempre25novembre. In collaboration with La Grande Casa scs onlus and the CNCA (National Coordination of Reception Communities), Sorgenia took advantage of the anniversary of Valentine's Day to make public some of the results of the project which had the objective of giving energy to 20 shelters of the CNCA, an organization which performs the very important and delicate function of accompanying women coming out of situations of violence towards a newfound autonomy.

To donate energy, it was sufficient to go to the page semper25novembre.sorgenia.it and click on the virtual switch: the large participation allowed Sorgenia to exceed the set goal and get to illuminate 23 houses distributed throughout the Italian territory. The promotional video of the initiative, starring Bebe Vio and Gessica Notaro, had around 6 million views and the campaign recorded 33,5 million total impressions. Milan, Rome and Naples are the cities with the highest number of interactions. The age group most involved was between 35 and 44 years old (26% of total interactions), immediately followed by 25-34 year olds (24%). The least active were the youngest (18-24 years) who stood at 7%.

Another interesting fact is the echo that the initiative had abroad, evidently driven by Italians residing across the border: the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands were the countries that showed the greatest interest. The initiative was enriched by exhibition "Every my house" of the Ri-Belle, hosted in the Sorgenia headquarters in Milan and open to the public throughout the weekend.

“The numbers of this campaign – he commented Gianfilippo Mancini, CEO of Sorgenia – demonstrate that Italian men and women are sensitive to the issue of gender-based violence and want to be involved. A surprising fact is that, after watching Bebe and Gessica's video, some women in difficult situations found the courage to ask us for help. We put them in contact with specialized operators, and today they are part of an assistance programme. Having managed to offer a concrete contribution through this initiative makes us even more sensitive and responsible regarding this topic".

"The results of the campaign and the extraordinary outcome of the artistic laboratory - added Liviana Marelli, General Manager of La Grande Casa scs onlus and member of the CNCA national executive with responsibility for child, youth and family policies - demonstrate that it is truly possible concretely support forms of closeness, solidarity and contrast to all forms of violence, recognizing the right of all women to take back their lives and to redesign, dream of a future for yourself and your children. They told us through the passion with which they built "their home" and, above all, through their ability to testify that it is possible to get out of situations of violence. Thanks again to Sorgenia for the commitment it has always shown alongside women and their children and for the concrete support in the process of starting up autonomy”.
