Samsung: 300 million phones sold worldwide

It is precisely the year of Samsung: after having surpassed rivals Apple in the sale of smartphones, the South Korean giant has announced that it has achieved 300 million units sold worldwide.

An exceptional number, well above company expectations earlier this year. As stated by JK Shin, the President & Head of the mobile division of the company, “Samsung is the only manufacturer that offers its customers worldwide a very wide range of platforms, including Android, Windows Phone and Bada OS. We hope to increase this success also in 2012”.

It was in particular that Samsung was dragged into this exceptional year the huge success achieved by the Galaxy S, one of the best-selling smartphones of last year and which also achieved excellent results in 2011, but the launch of the Galaxy S II, considered one of the best products currently on the market as far as advanced mobile telephony is concerned. Even the Bada software, now in its new 2.0 release, is gaining excellent acclaim with the new features introduced, further contributing to the company's success.
