Saipem, new offshore contracts in Angola and Nigeria

The Eni subsidiary has been awarded new contracts worth a total of 350 million dollars in Angola and Nigeria.

After Brazil andSaudi Arabia Saipem launches into West Africa. The company controlled by Eni was awarded new ones E&C Offshore contracts in Angola and Nigeria for a value of approximately USD 350 million.

In Angola, Saipem, through the jointly controlled company Petromar, has won 2 different contracts for the development of the southern part of the Mafumeira field located approximately 30 kilometers off the Angolan coast, within Block 0. The contracts were awarded by CABGOC (Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd), a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron. 

The Mafumeira Sul EPCI 3 scope of work includes the engineering, procurement and prefabrication of the offshore modification and connection activities to be performed on the existing Mafumeira Norte platform and future Mafumeira Sul production platforms. Mafumeira Sul EPCI 4 comprises the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of an onshore pipeline section that will connect the field to the oil export and storage facilities at the Malongo Terminal. The offshore activities will be implemented in several phases between the fourth quarter of 2013 and the second quarter of 2015.

In Nigeria, Saipem has instead been awarded a contract for the ASASA Pressure Maintenance project from Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, and the Usari FA-FR risers and Edop Pipeline Extension projects from Aveon Offshore Ltd. These contracts involve the fabrication and installation of pipelines, with diameter between 12 and 24 inches, as well as risers and flanges in the Asasa, Usari and Edop fields, located off Akwa Ibom state, in the south-eastern region of Nigeria, at a maximum water depth of 50 metres. The activities at sea will be performed by the S355 pipelaying and lifting pontoon. In addition, Saipem has negotiated several variations of the scope of work on existing Offshore E&C contracts.

Saipem stock on the stock market mid-morning earn 3,76% at 33,97 euros per share, while Eni earn 2,68% at 16,48 euro.
